WILSON, N.C. — Investigators in Wilson County are on the lookout for a suspect in a fatal shooting.
Authorities say 27-year-old Rosendo Torres Raygoza and Alejandro Pineda were involved in an illegal cockfight on Boykin Road in the western part of the county.
Investigators believe Pineda shot Raygoza numerous times and fled the scene. Raygoza later died at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Deputies said Pineda was last seen in a brown-and-silver 1990s-model Dodge Ram extended cab pickup truck with tinted windows.
Authorities found two cockfighting rings and a number of dead birds on the property. The owner, James Ward Flowers, 56, was arrested and charged with illegal cockfighting. His is in jail on a $2,000 unsecured bond.
