RALEIGH, N.C. — There is no word on when a Hope Mills man will be sentenced for stealing millions of dollars from the Iraqi government.
Robert Stein worked with the U.S. Department of Defense on Iraqi reconstruction contracts. He helped rig bids and smuggle money out of Iraq.
Stein used the cash to improve his house, buy cars, property, and jewelry.
At least two Army reservists are also charged in the scheme.
