TheEllis Island Experiencewill intrigue anyone interested in how America was settled especially from the beginning of the last century. The Web site shows how immigrants came by steamship enduring storms as described in oral histories.

The stories on the Web site are told by people who lived them. It also features film re-enactments that show how immigrants had to prove they could contribute to their new country.

Ellis Island is being restored with private money and will stand as a monument to the millions who came through its gates.
