Teachers and students at Greenwood Middle School are using Randy Adderton's own written words to find comfort after his heroic death.

Teachers say Randy was a good student and that, ironically, he recently designed a fire escape plan for his home as a class project

Adderton, 13, died this week after leading his grandmother from their burning home, then returning to get his sister, who also died. His mother and grandmother suffered only minor injuries.

Investigators are still searching for clues to the cause of the fire. ,They say bars on the windows, put there to prevent break-ins, contributed to the cause of death for both children who were unable to escape from a rear bedroom.

At school, Randy's friends taped a photograph of him to his locker and students and classmates are reading to each from essays he wrote.

They say his words are comforting and help them to remember him.

Anyone who would like to donate money to help the Adderton family with funeral and other expenses can send donations to Greenwood Middle School in care of Sandra McCullen
