The pilot and one passenger died when a private plane crashed last night in Caldwell County.
Four other passengers survived. Two of them are hospitalized.
Investigators are combing through the wreckage of the twin-engine Beechcraft-Baron, looking for clues to the cause of the crash.
The plane was returning from the Daytona 500 when it went down near the Morganton-Lenoir Airport
