Man's Body Found in Fayetteville Train Yard; Cold Weather Expected to be a Factor

FAYETTEVILLE — February 5, 1996 - 3:30 p.m. EST

The record cold temperatures have claimed 11 lives in North Carolina and 72 nationwide. Now police are trying to determine if the frigid weather also is to blame in the death of a man in Fayetteville.

The frozen body was discovered at a train switching yard by a train engineer. The body was about 10 feet from the track.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, but authorities do not suspect foul play.

The man's name has not be released
