"It gets you tired to, at times," Combs said. "I figure it's better to play hard, and take a rest, than to go through the motions and stay out there a long time, that's the mentality I have."
Duke is not exactly loaded with pro prospects, but fans can expect plenty of NFL scouts to come to Durham to see number 93.
"I expect Chris to have an All-American type season," Duke coach Fred Goldsmith said. "I thought he was one of the toughest guys to block in the ACC last year."
In two short years Combs has already racked up 14 sacks and 28 tackles for loss. Once more, his all out style of play makes those around him better as well.
"He's a terrific athlete, a great player and he's a technician," Duke guard Lennie Friedman said. "So, if I'm going to do anything against Chris, I'm going to have to be on my p's and q's."
The opposition had better be on their toes as well, because on the field Chris Combs is not about to cut anyone any slack.
