"I'm a free agent this year," Stackhouse told the media. "I'm one of the guys they are talking about coming up for a deal. I just hope everything will work out. I think everybody loves this game enough that it's going to start sometime."
If the labor dispute is settled, Stackhouse is going to get some offers. He was hoping to stay with the team he was traded to late in the season, the Pistons.
"To get what I want from the free agent market, to be the with guys I feel I can deal with, Detroit is a good opportunity for me," Stackhouse says. "But also, there are a lot of other good opportunities. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. If I had to bet my money, I would say Detroit. But, I'm betting yours."
Stackhouse is a great player. That is a safe bet. Someday, he hopes to cash in an NBA title.
