Local Post Offices Extending Hours for Last Minute Tax Filers

RALEIGH — If you have not filed your federal or state income tax returns yet, time is running out. Procrastinators and postal workers have begun the last minute rush.

To accommodate last minute filers, several post offices have announced extended hours Thursday. Raleigh:Accepting tax returns until midnight and offering retail service:

Brentwood Station, 2777 Brentwood Road

Capitol Station, 311 New Bern Avenue

Crabtree Valley Station, 4325 Glenwood Avenue

North Hills Station, 4209 Lassiter Mill Road

North Ridge Station, 7800 Falls of the Neuse Road

Westgate Station, 1 Floretta PlaceDurham:Accepting tax returns until midnight and offering retail service:

Main Post Office, 323 E. Chapel Hill StreetCary:

Main Post Office, 150 Wrenn Drive (Accepting tax returns until midnight and limited retail service)

Academy Station, 205 S. Academy Street (Accepting tax returns until 11 p.m. Returns deposited in the lobby mail drop and outside collection box prior to 11 p.m. will receive an April 15, 1999 postmark.)Chapel Hill:Accepting tax returns until midnight and offering retail service until 8:00 p.m:
