Parents Petition Charter School for Director's Resignation

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Parents of children who attend a North Raleigh charter school want to get rid of the school's executive director.

Two weeks ago, Rose McNeill fired the principal and a teacher at Northeast Raleigh Charter Academy. Financial problems were blamed for the dismissals.

On Saturday, about three dozen parents upset with the decision presented petitions and letters to the board of directors at Northeast Raleigh Charter Academy asking for McNeill's resignation.

The board has agreed to look at the parent' concerns and to address them, but it has not set a meeting date.
