FORT BRAGG — Santa Claus is just days from taking to the skies, but his helpers are already taking to the air in an effort to make sure every child receives a gift this holiday season.

On Saturday, hundreds of soldiers arrived at Fort Bragg's Sicily Drop Zone with toys in hand. In exchange for a toy, soldiers boarded a C-130 plane.

Operation Toy Drop is used to help collect toys for needy children at Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. It also helps get soldiers into the holiday spirit.

"Getting out here and jumping today adds something new to Christmas this year for me," said Lt. Karen Hernandez. -->
