RALEIGH, N.C. — Two of three men arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a young Raleigh woman could face the death penalty if they are convicted of her death.

Lauren Redman, 22, was stabbed to death last November at her West Raleigh apartment on Walnut Creek Parkway.

Byron Warring and Joseph Sanderlin were charged with first-degree murder and could face the death penalty, the Wake County district attorney's office decided Wednesday.

A third man, George Sasser, was also charged with accessory after the fact in connection to Redman's death.

Witnesses said Sasser was angry with Redman for kicking him out of the apartment they shared together and that he sent Waring to her apartment the night she was killed to collect an outstanding debt.
