Caregivers At Wilson Retirement Home Stage Walkout

Posted Updated

WILSON, N.C. — Caregivers at a Wilson retirement home walked off the job on Wednesday, claiming they didn't get paid.

More than a dozen workers from The Meadows assisted-living community left work, saying their paychecks bounced. They claim it's happened several times in the last few months.

They also said the walkout left the retirement home short-staffed, and there weren't enough people to properly care for the residents. Management says they're fully staffed according to regulations, and had no further comment.
