Murderer's Hearing Delayed

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE — A convicted murderer will wait another day before the next part of his trial begins in Fayetteville.

Testimony was to begin this morning in the sentencing phase for Eric Queen.

Instead, Judge William Gore canceled court because of a family emergency.

Friday, it took the jury just 90 minutes to deliberate the fate of co-defendant Paco Tirado.

He and Queen could face the death penalty for killing two women and seriously injuring a third as part of a gang initiation.

Tirado's sentence will remain sealed until the sentencing phase is finished for Queen. Then, both decisions will be read in open court at the same time.
