Suspect Arrested in Durham Shooting Death

Durham police have arrested a suspect a shooting death that happened Monday evening.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have arrested a suspect a shooting death that happened Monday evening.
Thomas Eugene Caraway, 19, of 3007 Angier Avenue was arrested Tuesday morning on Wabash Street. He was placed in Durham County Jail without bond.

Police were dispatched to a shooting call at Caraway's residence about 8:20 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found Sheridan Pierce Glenn, 19, of East End Avenue, who had been shot in the abdomen. He was taken to Duke University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

Officers believe the shooting took place at 3005 Angier Ave., which is an abandoned house. Glenn and Caraway were acquaintances, police said.

Investigators recovered a shotgun believed to have been used in the shooting. No motive has been determined and investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
