CARY — Authorities have released new information about a Cary murder.
Police found the body of Rico Waters slumped over in a car at the Woodcreek Apartments Saturday morning. They believe Vance Phillip Smith II shot him the night before in a drug deal that went awry.
"Mr. Smith does have a criminal record. He is believed to possibly still be armed, and he's certainly shown he has a propensity to be dangerous," says Cary police chief Windy Hunter.
Cary CrimeStoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call919-226-CRIME.
