SAMPSON COUNTY — The body of a missing Sampson County woman was found Tuesday afternoon, after she died in an apparent car accident.
Heddie Lee Duff, 57, had been missing since Feb. 21. when she went to the drugstore and never returned.
Around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, a power crew discovered the car she was driving about a mile from her Newton Grove home. Her body was found inside.
Deputies believe Duff may have been driving home when she lost control of her car and landed in a creek.
Maj. John Haynes of the Sampson Co. Sheriff's Office says there is no evidence of foul play.
