New Museum Exhibit Captures 'Faces' of the Past

A new exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh captures the "face" of the past.(WRAL-TV5 News)
RALEIGH — TheNorth Carolina Museum of Historyhas seen a sizeable jump in attendance recently, thanks in large part to "A Brush With History," a collection of portraits from theSmithsonian Institutionin Washington, D.C.

The museum has had a 24 percent increase in visitors since the exhibit opened. There are 75 portraits featuring a number of famous faces.

"When I look at the people, I kind of want to know the story behind them, and what part did they play in the history of this country," says Bill McCrea. "I want to know the story behind the face."

The free exhibit is open through April 8.
