The locator bar has been removed from the browsers on the children's computers so anyone using those computers will be unable to type in a Web address.
Instead, users can choose from a list of about 200 children's sites selected by the library.
"We want a lot more, tens of thousands, so we have a committee in place to make a recommendation on a service we can go with to increase the number of Web sites," says Cumberland County Library System Director Jerry Thrasher.
The committee hopes to make a recommendation to the library board by October.
The goal of the process is to prevent kids from accessing adult sites on the Internet.
