DURHAM — A convicted sex offender with a history of mental problems is going home.
Rex Haislip will be released from Durham Correctional Center Sunday. He'll be under house arrest.
During the past eight years, Haislip has been convicted of five sexual offenses in Durham. He's spent time in jail, and has been in and out of mental health facilities.
Once he's released, Haislip must avoid contact with girls under the age of 15 and register as a sex offender.
