RALEIGH — If your child will be school-age by this October, the time to start thinking about registration is now.
If you live in Wake County, registration starts February 4.
To enter kindergarten, your child must be 5 on or before October 16.
You must show a certified copy of the child's birth certificate and immunization record.
You should bring proof that you're a Wake County resident, which can be done with a rental agreement, housing contract or electric bill that bears your name.
Drivers' licenses aren't accepted as proof of residence.
You also need to bring your child's social security card.
To determine where your child should register call 850-1921.
