CARY — The Cary Town Council proclaimed Sunday the Fourth Annual Cary Kwanzaa Celebration.
And in honor of the proclamation, Sunday's program drew quite a crowd, on the second day of the cultural observance.
The program featured, among other attractions, African music and dance. This year's theme is "A Family Affair.
"We have so many people moving around, we need to adopt brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles and all types of people," said Lester Thomas, an organizer for the celebration.
Sunday's program also featured arts and crafts and paintings. Kwanzaa lasts from December 26 to January 1.
