LILLINGTON — Murder charges have been dropped against a man accused of killing his neighbor over his new car.
Larry McDougald was released from jail this week after the district attorney said evidence failed to support the charge.
Another suspect in the case had said McDougald was involved in the killing of Dwayne McNeill in March.
Investigators were able to verify McDougald was at work at the time of the slaying and blood found on his coat did not match the victim.
