<b>RALEIGH</b> — There was a scary awakening for residents of a North Raleigh apartment complex after an apartment went up in flames early Saturday.

It happened around 1 a.m. at The Lakes Apartments on Lake Hill Drive.

Firefighters managed to contain the flames to the one apartment. Nonetheless, it was pretty tense for the surrounding tenants.

No one was injured. Investigators have not said how the fire started.

Mykia Daniel, an eighth grader at Ligon Middle School, was shot and killed on Monday in a north Raleigh apartment. A 16-year-old was charged with her murder.
