Officers in Florida say Jerry Parrish tried to pick up what he thought was a 12-year-old boy on the Internet. When Parrish flew to Florida, he found out the 12-year-old was an undercover cop.
"He chatted with what he thought was a 12-year-old, but it was an undercover detective," said Chatham County Sheriff Don Whitt.
Whitt said when 50-year-old Jerry Parrish arrived in Tallahassee, Fla., he arranged to meet the 12-year-old in a parking lot near a hotel. Parrish showed up and so did the police. There never was a kid.
On Monday, federal and state agents and sheriff's deputies came to Parrish's rural Chatham County home, where they say they found more evidence of child pornography.
"In the closet there was a false wall. They found a large quantity of pictures of young white males having sex," explained Whitt
Parrish was arrested and convicted in Chatham County seven years ago for molesting Boy Scouts.
"[He would] take them out on camping trips, undressing them and having what I call kinky sexual activity," said Whitt.
If Parrish is convicted of the charges, he could be sentenced to 20 years in prison. Reporter: Todd HauerPhotographer: Lynn French
