Family Survives Crash with Train

DURHAM — Three members of one family had a close call Sunday morning, when their car was hit by a train at a Durham crossing.
A mother was driving her vehicle across the tracks when the collision occurred.
She sustained cuts and bruises; her two children were not injured.
Investigators have not released the family's identity, nor that of the engineer.
The collision occurred at Pettigrew Street about 11 a.m.
