ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Funeral services will be held Friday for a mother who police say was killed by her own son.
Barbara Davis, 40, died Thursday after being shot in the back yard of her home in Rocky Mount.
Police say 19-year old Brandon Terrell Norwood was arguing with another man, whose identity was not released, and was pointing a handgun at the man. Norwood, however, allegedly shot at the man and struck his mother, authorities said.
Norwood, who is charged with first-degree murder, is being held in the Edgecombe County Detention Center without bond.
