New Charter School Greets Students and Parents

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — In a few weeks, summer vacation will end and students will be going back to school. Some charter schools are giving students and parents a head start in getting prepared for the new school year.

Teachers and Staff of the Sankore Charter School met with students and parents at St. Matthews Church in North Raleigh Sunday. The offices and rooms of the church will be used as classrooms for 200 students.

"We're gonna be an accelerated model to our children," said Sankore Principal Christine Favata.

School leaders are trying to figure out how to provide transportation for the students who will travel from Cary and Knightdale.

Sakore opens September 8th.
