Candlelight Vigil Held at Raleigh Food Lion

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — The death of an alleged, would-be robber has some people speaking out against violence. Thursday night, the Interfaith Alliance held a candlelight vigil for Jason Cort who, according to store employees, attempted to rob the Food Lion supermarket on Avent Ferry Road in Raleigh.

One of the store's employees chased and severely beat Cort who later died at a hospital.

A grand jury ruled there was no probable cause to charge that employee in connection with Cort's death.

Cort's family wants another grand jury to hear the case.
