A fire damaged three units at a Raleigh apartment complex early Wednesday morning when flames spread up the building and onto the roof.

WAKE — A fire damaged three units at a Raleigh apartment building early Wednesday morning when flames spread up the structure and onto the roof.

The blaze started around 1 a.m. at the University Woods apartment building off Trailwood Drive, according to fire crews on the scene.

No one was injured, but people living in three units had to spend the night elsewhere after their apartments sustained smoke and water damage.

The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
