Former Fayetteville Cop Hit With More Charges

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE — The former Fayetteville police officer charged with two counts of rape faces an additional charge. Christopher Young is now charged with extortion and assault.

Young is accused of forcing a 37-year-old woman to touch him. He's already charged with raping two young women in his custody, and forcing another female to perform a sex act.

Young was fired from the Fayetteville Police Department last week.

He was transferred from Fayetteville's jail to the Craven Correctional Institution in Craven County. Jailers said the move was necessary to protect Young from other inmates.

He is under $185,000 bond.
