DURHAM, N.C. — Police are now investigating after the discovery of human remains in a wooden area in Durham.
Surveyors found the remains of 49-year-old David Neal Medlin across from Home Depot on Mt. Moriah Road. Investigators said the body appeared to have been there for several months.
Authorities said Medlin was a homeless man who was last seen by family members on June 3. Medlin, who had serious medical issues, was reported missing to the Durham Police Department last summer.
The remains have been sent to the state Medical Examiners office in Chapel Hill, but investigators said there was no sign of foul play.
