Those in favor of the hub were the chambers of commerce in Raleigh and Cary, as well as the Durham City Council and the Durham County Commission. Opposed were members of the Cary Town Council, and Glen Lang says he sees the decision as no loss for this area.
Lang says maybe it's a loss for Kinston, site of the fledgling Global Trans Park, or for other areas, but that he doesn't think it would have been good for development here.
The debate, however, sparked strong emotions. The Cary Town Council is considering whether to hold back on funding for the Cary Chamber, given the chamber's backing of a Triangle FedEx hub.
