DURHAM — A little boy shot in the back is improving. A bullet severed Tiquan Mikell's spine while he was walking home from dinner with his mom Tuesday Night on the edge of the Few Gardens housing complex.

He remains hospitalized, but his condition has been upgraded from critical to fair.

Police are looking for three suspects, including the man seen in the composite at left. He goes by the street name "York".

Durham Public Housing is trying to find a handicap accesible apartment for the family.

The boy may not ever be able to walk again.
