Wilson Man Charged With Murder in Shooting

Wilson, N.C. — Wilson police charged a 25-year-old man with first-degree murder Thursday after a shooting that killed another man.

Police got a call Thursday morning that a man had been shot on Darden Lane in the city. They said they found William F. Barnes, 37, of Wilson with a gunshot wound in his stomach. He died after being airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, they said.

Anthony L. McNeil, 25, who police said lived in the 600 block where police found Barnes, turned himself in and was charged with first-degree murder, police said.

McNeil was held in the Wilson County Jail for arraignment Friday, police said.

Unfortunately, posters here are sensitive to race because of the barrage of stories and images they see from this very website.

People are upset that what they are seeing is corroborated by statistics kept by our own federal government, but nobody seems to have an answer why.

The Bureau of Crime Statistics in the Department of Justice indicates:

* Blacks are just 13 percent of the population but they commit more than half the muggings and murders in the country.

* Hispanics commit violent crimes at about three times the white rate.

* Every year there are about 15,000 black-on-white rapes but fewer than 900 white-on-black rapes. There are more than 3,000 gang rapes of whites by blacks—but white-on-black gang rapes are so rare they do not even show up in the statistics.

People just want answers.

PEOPLE GET A GRIP...ALL RACES KILL, NOT JSUT BLACK PEOPLE. DOES RACE HAVE TO PLAY A ROLE IN EVERYTHING..GET OVER IT.

Am I missing something here? Why do people think that only blacks kill blacks? Whites kill whites, hispanics kill hispanics, and so on.

It is bad enough for the one killed,but noone wins in a situation like this. Parents and loved ones also suffer on both sides.

Its not just black people.Whites and Mexicans are just as bad.All the killing needs to stop.My Father-in-law was killed 16 years ago.He was robbed and shot in his yard for money.He would have give them the money.It wasnt necessary to kill him.My boys have missed out on a good man.Its time for people to wake up before another child has to go through life without a parent or grandparent.
