ROBBINS, N.C. — Moore County authorities say a 15-year-old boy died Wednesday after he was buried alive in sand.
Deputies say James Gouker was digging a tunnel in a sand pile in Robbins when it caved in on him.
Emergency personnel tried to revive Gouker, but were not successful. He was pronounced dead at First Health of the Carolinas Hospital in Pinehurst.
Authorities said there was no evidence of foul play.
