RALEIGH, N.C. — State Highway Patrol troopers have arrested one person in an early-Sunday morning hit-and-run that killed one person.
Authorities said the accident happened at about 3:15 a.m. when Jessica Marie Stevens, 25, of Raleigh, hit Sergio Yanez Espinosa, 20, on U.S. Highway 401 North near Fox Road, just north of Raleigh.
Stevens, who called police after she realized she hit someone, returned to the scene and was charged with felony hit and run.
Investigators have not released any further information about the accident.
