In one month, police say someone broke the windows in nine parked vehicles, at least seven of the vehicles was shot at using a BB gun.
Authorities say three incidents occurred in the central area of town and the rest occurred in northern Chapel Hill-Homestead Road and Weaver Dairy Road areas.
Police say it is similar to a rash of car vandals that hit the town in August and September. At least 40 cars ended up with slashed tires and broken windows.
A different type of vandalism occurred between Nov. 23 and Nov. 25 at Timberlyne Apartments near Weaver Dairy Road. Police say two buildings, a lamp and a bush were spray-painted. Blue paint was used and the words, "Night Fox," were painted on the buildings. It is not known if this incident is related to the damaged vehicles.
