RALEIGH, N.C. — A man faces a long list of charges after a daring escape from Raleigh police.

Police officers say they were bringing 18-year-old Antonio Boyd to jail around 10 p.m. Monday when he ran away from officers and jumped two stories from a parking deck.

Boyd, who was still handcuffed, later ran through the kitchen of Est, Est, Est in Raleigh, grabbed a bottle of champagne and then climbed into the ceiling.

"I don't know how he got up in the ceiling. This guy must have been on the Olympic team," said Nick Rossicci, owner of Est, Est, Est.

Boyd was somehow was able to grab a bottle of champagne, ran through the bathroom and locked the door. Dozens of police officers stormed the place.

"He got in the rafters and we heard him in the rafters and all the police had guns drawn and everything. It was unbelievable," Rossicci said.

Boyd's escape did not last long. He came crashing through the ceiling and officers grabbed him. Boyd was taken to the hospital and later transferred him to jail.

Boyd was being arrested for failure to appear in court. He now faces obstruction and resisting arrest charges.
