Chapel Hill Police Seek Assailant in Attempted Rape

Chapel Hill police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an attempted rape and sexual assault.

The victim, a Chapel Hill woman in her 50s, reported that she was walking on Umstead Drive near Bradley Road at about 10:15 p.m. Monday when an assailant grabbed her from behind and wrestled her into a wooded area.

Police said the man took her bag, which contained personal items, and ran off.

The assailant is described as a black male, 18 to 20 years old, who is about 6 feet tall with a slender build. He has short hair and no facial hair.

Yeah, WRAL has been pretty misleading this week with headlines. If there is more to the story that leads the police and reporters to think it was attempted rape, then that should be included in the article in order to back up the claim the headline makes. Shoddy newswriting WRAL.

By being GOOD I meant that it was more than just a smiley face. That's why I said I hope it leads to the RIGHT person....

lol.. how do you know the composite is good? You will only know if the person is caught and his face is compared to the composite...and if you do your research, there is more to the story that the WRAL reported didn't report.

nursevb8 - Rape is against the law. Do you feel safer now? If you want safety, carry a gun. Laws stop tax evaders not rapists.

I'm confused too, where is the attempted rape part? But the composit is very good. Hope it leads to the right person.
