Yeah, WRAL has been pretty misleading this week with headlines. If there is more to the story that leads the police and reporters to think it was attempted rape, then that should be included in the article in order to back up the claim the headline makes. Shoddy newswriting WRAL.

By being GOOD I meant that it was more than just a smiley face. That's why I said I hope it leads to the RIGHT person....

lol.. how do you know the composite is good? You will only know if the person is caught and his face is compared to the composite...and if you do your research, there is more to the story that the WRAL reported didn't report.

nursevb8 - Rape is against the law. Do you feel safer now?
If you want safety, carry a gun. Laws stop tax evaders not rapists.

I'm confused too, where is the attempted rape part?
But the composit is very good. Hope it leads to the right person.

I am with the last three responders. Seems funny. Remember the Tanya Brawley case in NY and I am not saying this girl in Durham wasn't raped but the guy had no record, no pass doing anything of the sort. Seems funny. You see stuff like this on court tv everynight.

I thought the same thing. When did the sexual assault come into play? There has to be more to this than what was reported by the media. At the same time I'm not down playing being mugged. I'm glad she's okay because it could have been worse.

Sounds like a robbery not a rape from the way the story is written. I say we need better writers at WRAL.com . If someone goes into a store and wrestles the clerk to the ground and takes the register is that an attempted rape?

hmmm looks kind of like the guy accused in the Duke case doesn't it? Makes me think something's fishy here. and what leads the victim to determine it was an attempted rape? he drug you into a wooded area and mugged you, if he wanted to rape you, he would have. As for the Duke case, I think sometimes when 18 year old girls get drunk and do things at party's they wouldn't do without their liquid courage they cry rape and make it harder for the real victims to get justice. That's why the legal drinking age isn't 18, if you can't drink responsibly and LEGALLY, don't drink.

Looks like we will have to elect more women in politics to get rid of this problem! I think we should castrate all men who sexually assault females! It works for animals, maybe it will deter them from having these urges and behaving like animals! The court system is too lacks-a-daisal in dealing with these cases.
