FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities said Thursday they were looking for a man involved in what they called a "domestic-related homicide."

Sheriff's deputies said they found Johnny Tyrod Davis, 29, shot to death in an apartment on

Dwelle Drive

in the Topeka Heights subdivision around 5 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities said Davis had been visiting a woman who lived at the apartment where he was shot. Investigators said Simmons and the unidentified woman were past acquaintances.

Detectives were looking for Lerandall Simmons, 31, who they said fled on foot from the scene. He is believed to be living in Sampson County, but his last known address was the same apartment where Davis was shot.

Anyone with any information about Simmons' whereabouts should contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at
