NASH COUNTY, N.C. — A woman from Virginia faces several charges after a single-car accident shut down part of Interstate 95 in Nash County Saturday morning, state highway patrol troopers said.

Troopers said a vehicle driven by Amber Bradley, 35, flipped at least three times after she lost control when an empty trailer she was pulling began to swerve.

Bradley and her 15-year-old son were ejected from the car and taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Troopers said neither was wearing a seat belt.

Bradley's 12-year-old son was also in the car, but he was not hurt, troopers said.

Bradley has been charged with failure to maintain lane position, failure to wear a seat belt and improper child restraint.

Troopers said a portion of southbound I-95 near Rocky Mount was completely blocked for more than an hour due to the accident.
