3-Year-Old Boy Left On Durham School Bus

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — A bus driver and bus monitor are in legal trouble for leaving a 3-year-old boy on a bus alone for an hour.

Police say Angela Allen and Angel Baskerville were driving children with the Operation Breakthrough program back home Thursday when their bus broke down on Durham's Fayetteville Street.

Allen and Baskerville loaded the children on another bus, but somehow missed Orlando Navez. A city worker spotted the boy and called police.

Allen and Baskerville are both charged with misdemeanor child neglect.
