ATM With $10,000 Inside Missing, Cumberland Authorities Say

Posted Updated

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators are looking for a person they believe stole an automated teller machine from the Cumberland County fair last week.

Deputies say the ATM, valued at about $2,500, had about $10,000 inside and was reported missing before the gates opened at the Crown Coliseum one morning.

The fair hired just one deputy to patrol the grounds after hours. Detectives believe the thief knew the deputy's routine.
