RALEIGH, N.C. — A pilot escaped injury Wednesday after a rough landing at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

The nose of a Cessna 172 aircraft collapsed while it was taxiing on one of RDU's runways at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The incident shut down the airport's main runway for about 10 minutes.

The pilot was the only person on board.
