<b>WAYNE COUNTY, N.C.</b> — The Wayne County Sheriff's Office issued a warning Wednesday to residents in Seven Springs to beware of solicitations.

Sheriff Carey Winders said an unknown person or group of people have been going door-to-door in Seven Springs neighborhoods asking for donations to the local fire department.

Winders said that while the Seven Springs Fire Department is planning a fundraiser for Oct. 1, the solicitations have nothing to do with the fire department's activities.
