Duke Officials Implement New Change To Tailgate Policy

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Sports fans at Duke University will have to abide by a new set of rules at this weekend's homecoming game if they decide to tailgate.

The change is in response to unsafe driving that took place at the last tailgate two weekends ago.

Under the new policy, fans will not be allowed to move their vehicles from the Blue Zone of the Wallace Wade Stadium parking lot until halftime.

The change comes after concerns that there are still a high number of spectators entering the stadium at kickoff, the time when students are normally required to leave the tailgate parking lot.
