Police said 10 people who live off of
Weaver Dairy Road
woke up Friday morning to find that someone had slashed the tires to their cars. Vandals also have struck at a condo complex off
Homestead Road
, police said.
"I actually didn't realize the tire had been slashed until I got about a mile down the road and found out I had to learn how to use the jack on this truck and change the tire," said Andrew Sloop, who had one tire slashed. "I guess I was a little naive to think this couldn't happen."
In most cases, police said, tires have been slashed; and in some cases, a window has been broken by rocks and BB pellets.
Police said the vandalism occurs overnight, and they do not have any suspects.
"They're happening overnight; the window we've been able to pin down is between midnight and three, so we're really looking for help," said Jane Cousins, spokesperson for the Chapel Hill Police Department.
