Durham Fire Chief Announces His Retirement

DURHAM, N.C. — The Chief of the Durham Fire Department announced his retirement this week after 30 years of public service.

Otis Cooper Jr.'s last day on the job will be Oct. 1.

Deputy Fire Chief Bruce Pagan will serve as interim chief until the city finds a permanent replacement.
