Cary Police Release More Information About Flasher

Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — At least four women have reported running into a man wearing nothing but a hat along the Black Creek Greenway near North Harrison Avenue and Reedy Creek Road in Cary, police said.

The greenway, which stretches from Cary to Lake Crabtree, covers about five miles.

The Cary Police Department said the man suspected of exposing himself usually appears during the morning hours between 5 and noon.

At least four incidents have been reported in the past six weeks, and the latest incident happened this week, police said.

Police said the man has been spotted wearing just a hat and sunglasses or nothing but a bike helmet.

"Basically, he is described as having an athletic build, very tall and very slim and lean," Detective Brisco Gasperson said.

A woman who claimed to be exposed to the suspect also told police the man was hairless.

Police said people walking or running the trail should be alert and aware, particularly people wearing headphones when they run or walk.
